Best reason is that it shifts better, cold and hot. The Alfine is so well sealed, I haven't seen any seepage. I added enough to fill the lower ~1/6 of the hub, no need to overfill it. I didn't notice a big difference in drag, the Alfine is smooth out of the box
Also converted my SRAM im9 to oil bath, much better shifting, still draggy. Poor old im9, needs all the help it can get
