First of all I am having a little trouble identifying it. From some internet research, it looks like the Rally is a model from 1983 -- does anyone know if they made Rally's for other years -- and if so how do I find out what year my Rally is from?

Second, does anyone know much about Nishiki's from the 80's? Is this a good bike? solid frame? Any thoughts on its value -- it has very few miles on it and is in very good condition.

Third, I'm thinking about converting it to a fixie. Would this be a difficult process? Expensive?

Here's the link to pictures. I'd appreciate any advice anyone has to offer.

Based on the components (low-end derailleur, swaged cranks, and unicrown fork) I'd say you have an entry-level Nishiki--one that you wouldn't want to invest too much time or money in (and not worth more than $50 in my local market...though Boston's a little crazier from what I've seen and heard).

That said, it'd probably make for a fine FG/SS. Post it in the fixed gear subforum for advice on how to do a decent conversion on the cheap.
