it is good to take a break, it gives perspective. I am on all the time for work, (19 hours saturday) but on vacation only take my cell phone. And last summer I went to where a I grew up in Montana...and had no cell reception. To my amazement, the world did not end, I didn't lose my job and I am not 100% indispensible.

the fun/passion of different points of view will be there when you get back.
