Yesterday I was riding home in the rain with full waterproof gear, headlights on, etc. A lot of the beeps were short taps, not blares, and coming at me from opposing traffic. I'm thinking that just maybe, perhaps, some of those were actually beeps of encouragement for taking on the rainy commute?

Today, complete opposite. Most people were beeping from behind me, or while passing, and making gestures like I wasn't supposed to be on the road.
