About the closest I get is when I'm on a potential record run on a training loop and I'm forced to slow down on a descent because of traffic. More of an inconvenience than a crushing.
I wasn't at a 'peak' at this years Ft Davis stage race but the guy who won our cat crushed the entire fields collective soul. At the base of the climb on stage 1 he just rode away from the group and put 4 min into second place. The TT that afternoon he posted the 4th fasted time of any cat, only getting beat by 2 pro's and Racer Ex. Sunday stage 3 he dropped his chain at the base of the climb, calmly got off his bike fixed it and then caught and dropped us again. I felt crushed.
