I agree with Alfster...to a degree...sell it or trade and get something you like before it gets so bad you just don't want to ride period. But for some, you don't need multiple bikes. True, it did take me 3 iterations before landing on my 4th bike that I totally loved and could do anything I wanted it to.

Finding the right bike for you is a journey...or something.
