If I read your post right you're hitting Eugene this weekend, right? While I've never rented a bike from Paul's, I've purchased more than one bike from them and have always been treated
very well by their staff. What I've seen walking past their rental bikes looks to be well cared for and mostly of the "hybrid" variety. They are also in close proximity to our river bike bath and should carry the free map of bike paths and bike friendly routes that the city prints up. If you want to rent something a bit more exotic, the Center for Appropriate Transport and their associated bike recycle shop have some fun looking custom built recumbents/trikes but they might be a bit pricey. If you are looking to find any entertainment in town, just look for the bright red paper boxes containing the Eugene Weekly, and you should be able to find something that tickels your fancy. Have an enjoyable visit to our little city/big town.
