Think about it this way. If those OC rims make a wheel so much stronger, why aren't all the fully loaded touring guys using them? If they're stronger on paper but makes no difference in actual use, it might as well have not been there!

Spokes generally break on the drive side anyways. I can see how this rim could be a solution to someone who has problems breaking/losing tension on left side spokes on a properly handbuilt rear wheel. But we can already mitigate this by running radial on the left anyways. So what really huge advantage does the OC rim give?

I would love to be wrong and be able to say anyone who doesn't use OC rims in applications that needed extreme robustness/durability that they're a moron for using them but so far I haven't seen a good reason to say this.
