Yeah, well, you're not the first and you won't be the last to come to that realization. Whenever people post here looking for the perfect bike that will do everything, folks try to explain to them what a waste of time that is...some listen and some don't. Look at it this way, you're far better off than most who bought the "does-everything" bicycle -- most of those bicycles end up gathering dust, but at least you still want to ride! Sell your bike for what you can get for it, buy the bike you want (7.5fx is a sweet commuter, it's what I use), and if you want to do more than one thing on a bike, get more than one bike. Consider also a commission sale if you have a LBS -- dunno about this year, but last year my LBS was moving a ton of used bikes, and it was a great place to sell a bike without having to do any work at all (I sold two within a week).
