I have the Toupe, not the Toupe Gel and I'm not quite ready to form an opinion yet.

I've only ridden about 5 or 10 rides under 25 miles, and had no problems whatsoever. But the one ride I did which was over 50 miles, was a bit uncomfortable. I suspect things will be fine after another 500 miles. And in case you didn't already know, the Toupe is considerably more firm than the Alias.
