Thanks for the advice, guys! Seems like Holdsworth either scrimped on the brass, or missed this one, it spins so I can't use that repair kit. I think it will have to go under the torch at some point. One problem is that I mixed the paint myself, long ago when I had access to a spray booth, I'll never be able to re-spray to match. Looks like it may become a "bronze with panels" paint job, Not sure what color, but I have gold decals I never applied.
I'm still unclear exactly how you install the repair kit to fix a broken stud, but to answer a few ?s: the sleeve is thin plain, un-threaded and no-lip stainless steel, it's the same OD as the stud. The bolt will fit thru the sleeve and it's same thread as the stud. Seems like the intention is to put the washer on the bolt; bolt thru the canti; bolt thru the sleeve and then screw the bolt into the remaining threads of your broken stud. Wouldn't help if the stud is completely stripped, would probably require trimming the broken stud flush and square...and why not just use the stock bolt?
