Well, what about the old saying "can't teach an old dog new tricks"? Any self respecting oldie would spend more time fighting with the coach and telling him "I know boats", than doing what he says. You're letting down oldes everywhere munchie.
Well, the way I see is, if I'm gonna ask for help then I'm gonna have to listen. If a coach loses interest cause you don't listen to a werd they say then you don't have a coach (ie. you're wasting your money and their time).
One of the things that you lose after 20 years out of the game is racecraft. He picks me up on the littlest things so that I don't make those mistakes in a race. Sometimes I feel stupid when he points them out, but I'd rather feel stupid in training than look stupid in a race. Sometimes they are safety issues, and I can do without losing skin due to my own habits and faults.
