FWIW, our 2 day 3 race event costs $80 (1/2 for juniors racing as seniors). That includes full feedzone support, professional timing services, t-shirt, BBQ and a purse + primes of $10,000. But, in Wyoming law enforcement costs are very low and permits from the city and the state are free. US Forest service charges us $5 per car to use their parking lot att he RR start. Moreover, we are able to turnout about 150 volunteers each day to support the race (including very inexpensive medical thanks to local volunteer fire departments). We shoot for a small profit or break even point. Any profit supports other local cycling events.
