I scared the s**t out of myself a couple of evenings ago. I just bought a road bike two weeks ago and have only ridden it twice. The other evening I went around the neighborhood and I did realize that the front tire, a conti racer 23mm, was low on air. I was already out riding when I scared myself going around a turn when the front tire slid out on me. I do weigh about 210 or so and I am wondering if low air pressure can cause the tire to break away so easily? BTW, it happened twice and thank goodness I didnt go down. Should I consider going up to an even larger size? I use to ride on-road many years ago but for the last 5 years I have been on a mtn bike.

I got home and pulled off the 23s. I had already bought some 25s so I hope the slightly larger size will be a better choice for me. Are there any tricks or suggestions for mounting the clinchers? Do you put one side of tire onto rim then insert the tube before you pop the other side of tire onto rim? I ran out of time before I could finish installing new tires but one tire appears to be mis-fitted onto rim. Thanks,
