Sports specific clothing is expensive... but how much?

A good pair of cycling shorts are 60 - 80, bib shorts 100
A good pair of tights, 50 - 90 or more
Typical jerseys 50 - 80
Shoes 70-200
Leg warmers, arm warmers, knee warmers 20 - 50
Helmets - 50 - 200
Gloves - 20 - 50
Socks 5 - 10 per pair
Jackets 60 - 90

Have you ever thought how much you speed on cycling clothing

I have 2 pairs of ultrasensor shorts (1 bib one normal), thermal fleace tights, arm leg and knee warmers, shoe covers, 1 team bib, 2 pairs of cheeper shorts for work (bike officer) 4 jerseys, 2 jackets, 4 pairs of socks and a rain jacket. Total cost over 800 dollars.

I can not imagine in a few years how much I will have. BTW I ride 5 days per week.
