I have a Shimano, one of few Shimano things I own. Threw out Parks at the shop when we got the first Shimano cutters. The cutter I have is from the shop - 9 years in the shop, then 12 years personal/friend use. In 12 years of personal use I probably cut as many cables as I did in a day or so at the shop.

As long as you don't cut spokes with them, you're fine.
