Anyone who's been on BF for over a week has seen threads similar to this one. The underlying point of threads like these seems to be "I can't afford to buy a nice bike, so I'm going to tell you all that you will see no significant increase in performance from your nice bikes."

Then everyone who owns nice bikes will pile on the OP.

Then the OP will throw out meaningless statistics to try to prove their point.

Then everyone will point out how stupid the OP is for bringing up meaningless statistics.

Then the OP will abandon the thread, presumably so they can go off to the corner and cry, while silently cursing their 7 speed aluminum Trek that they bought on CL for $200.

Lather, rinse, repeat.
