She doesn't understand, I don't ask her to, and no one is upset about it!
It never goes away. My wife feels the same about my trips. All this "family obligations" and "you have a child." Go figure. I think the best thing to do in cases like this is to get the opposition to join you. Maybe it would be good to have the naysaying parent or spouse accompany on a tour?
