Instead I did the long side again for some reason, which is 9 miles long.

44:34 the first time and 45:09 the second, averaging 289w (4.6w/kg) and 282w(4.5w/kg) respectively. The last 1.5k goes to switchbacks and has a 400m stretch at 18%. Hurts like hell when you're already 40 minutes in.

I'm thinking I might have to go for my PR on this climb soon. 40:32 @ 308w (4.92w/kg) av from last summer. I think I can go under 40.

One guy went to the ER the other went home with bad road rash.
Yikes.

Speaking of scary, I just tried a packet of Recoverite I had lying around. It tastes awful. I'm trying to find something for recovery. I currently have a Soy protein mix that tastes really good, and I have some carbs with it.

But I'm about out of the protein mix I'm using, so I thought about trying something else.

Does anyone have a good tasting recovery drink? I like chocolate flavors for recovery, anything that has chocolate flavor?
Chocolate milk, trust me...skim is best, but, any will do the trick...

I hear ya!!! The heat hammered me yesterday...nonetheless, I'm still thinking about CCove on June 20...sanity will probably return when I see 100+ on a regular basis and I'll be thinking of everyone out there while I'm at ZTejas happy hour...
