Did My Good Deed For the Week (month/year?)

Did the Bike-Boat-Bike this morning. No one from my training group showed, so I rode it by myself and with like paced riders. Total Ride was 109.65. Anyway...

I was by myself heading to the finish, bouncing along at respectable pace, when I passed a guy way over weight on a Trek 2500 from about the mid 90's (with a very cool purple air brushed paint job, but I digress).

I zip by this guy and I realized something just isn't right. He doesn't sound like he is breathing right, he is weaving, and he is on the bike in a funny way. We are on a back road, but by no means an empty road, so I slow down and wait for him to pass and ask him if he is OK. He nods and keeps riding. At this point we are less than 10 miles from the parking lot. I fall in beside him and try to talk to him. I finally figure out that he is on the 65 mile ride, and he can't tell me his name, or answer any questions correctly.

I was trying to call the SAG when he just road into the ditch and stopped, but did not fall over. I asked if he was with some one, and after a lot of patience and a quick search of his cell pone, it turned out his wife and friends were all waiting at the finish. I called them, waited until they arrived, and then finished the ride.

I hope he wasn't seriously hurt, but he really did not look good. He was local, so may they found a doctor. I did not see them come into the finish area, but it was big and crowded with the 65 mile finishers.

BTW, great ride, a little disorganized, some poor markings (but a very good cue sheet) and some serious goodies at the 5 rest stations. OREO cookies are my new power bars. They really do the job, and they taste a lot better.
