I thought the difference between MTB canti levers and MTB v-brake levers was quite obvious and easy to identify... With canti levers, the brake cable attaches directly to the lever, while with v-brake levers, the brake cable attaches to a small metal pivot which itself attaches to, in a pivoting manner, to the brake lever.
