I have a pair of old Specialized Sworks shoes with the boa ratchet closure and I love it. I used to have an old pair of sidis with the traditional 2 velcro straps and a plastic lever strap and I have found that the boa closure system provides a more even "tightness" rather than creating hot spots on the top of the foot. Just a more even feel in my opinion.
