Wonder if it was a field mouse? I see them all the time in my early morning/late evening rides.

Yeah, Gus, hope things are a bit cooler for our little Iowa adventure! I'm not too worried, tho...my average speed last year was only about 13 mph! I loved riding slow and chatting with the other riders! The first day last year was dominated by headwinds and hills, but I managed to survive it. On the second day, I was blasting along, and came across a little girl on her 20 inch single speed bike! I slowed down to chat with her...looking all cool astride my Roubaix, with my spandex and jersey, and the conversation went something like this:
Me: Hi! Having any fun?
Her: Yup!
Me: You getting along okay?
Her: Yup!
Me: You ride yesterday?
Her: Yup!
Me: The whole thing?
Her: Yup!
I pulled away from her one humbled roadie! What a little athlete! But,such are some of the interesting individuals you meet on the roads in Iowa!
Well, time to get ready for another day of fun at work...well, at least getting there will be fun!!
