"as far as i was able to find out, mostly from the folks on the classic
rendezvous mailing list, iit was made by torelli in 1994 (the serial
number is a torelli number).

torelli used to make a track frame called the 'pista speciale' but
other than the name, and the fact that it came only in a color called
'torelli red' i wasn't able to find anything out about it.

i don't know how it came to have masi decals on it, but i got an email
from someone who used to know johnnie abreu in new york, who told me
that johnnie was a racer who also ended up doing some time for dealing
acid and pot, so the bike's definitely got some history".
