First, let me say that I jumped in to the thread in the middle, and replied without reading from the start - which is really rare for me. Sorry, sorry about "feeding the troll". And please excuse this last comment...

Even though closetbiker was quick to refute the points I made about helmets, he provided reasons for why he disagreed with me. Some of them I agreed with, some I didn't. Everyone has their idea of right and wrong. However, I do give him credit for keeping it "above the belt" and not getting off track with a flame war (with my post, at least).

While I was riding today, I went past the sites of two recent car accidents. The first one had knocked down a telephone pole, and debris was scattered all over the place. The second accident was on the front page of the newspaper because of at least one fatality. Both of these accidents were on a road that I've ridden literally hundreds of times, and were within two miles of my home. I'll keep my helmet, thank you.
