Bikes: Cannondale T700s and a few others

I have the MTX Trunk bag that I like a lot for summer but the fold out panniers just don't have enough volume for the winter when I have to jam a couple layers of heavy clothes in them when it warms up in the afternoon.

I managed to score a second set of Novara Transfer Panniers today for $55 at the REI Scratch and dent. One ofthe twist locks doesnt ratchet. Doesn't effect how they perform. They will be my front set when I start touring. Novemeber I scored the older and larger set for the same price. The complaint was heel strike. http://www.rei.com/product/780451 If you scroll down they have a laptop sleeve that hangs in the pannier. The tops have a compartment for small stuff (the older set had a organizer in it with pockets for pens, small items and a key clip.

The older set I have has the mounts like these. http://www.rei.com/product/780452 I think I like them better becasue they are easier to pop off the bike. They have snaps that hold them together to make them eaiser to carry. You can buy a repait kit that has they old style mount for $20 if you want to convert. http://www.rei.com/product/782719

Heavy condura carcus with a stiff back plate that keep them out of the spokes. Rain flys store in a side pocket and seem to work well enough. Hit the scratch and dents and see if you can score a set.
