Interesting. Michigan had the first paved road in the world (also the first traffic light and the first expressway). Now we lead the nation in depaving roads.

However, this is only 50 miles of roadway, out of many thousands of miles in the state--not exactly a trend, so far. No need yet to trade in your skinny tires or invest in suspension forks.
