To be considered attached do you have to uses a club/team that is registered with USCF? Or can it be just be a team a friend and I came up with?

Just though I would ask cause I upgraded from 5 to 4, and one of my events mentioned a $5 charge for unattached (except Cat 5). Been to busy lately to get out and actually ride with a club to see if I want to join.
