Help: Brake swap possible?

Hi all,

I have a set of Hayes solo disc brakes on my front and rear and was wondering if it's possible to swap the brake lever of the rear for the front and vice versa. I wanted to do this because I often use the rear brakes more but the lever on that side is a lot older and so it's less jumpy and responsive so I rather take the more jumpy brake lever from the front brakes and connect it to the rear brakes. These brakes are hydraullic so after disconnecting the cables the hydaullic fliud would just come gushing out and I need to be prepared and have some replenishment fluid right? If so this might be too much trouble and I should just get a new brake for the rear or just continue using. It works well actually.. I just wanted it to be more jumpy. If all this can be avoid with a better idea please advise me.

Thank-you,
Tom
