my right shifter broke..they dont make shimano 105's for nine speeds anymore.going to have to buy new ultegra shifters or tiagras for at least $250.I am also looking to upgrade parts during the next 8 months and use this as a back up......would have to spend 400 bucks to replace with new ultegras shifters..why not upgrade everything with decent used parts?

I plan on buying a new bike in 7-8 months and will have a 5k budget....right now i want a good bike and a decent backup bike 7-8 months from now. i have 700 bucks set aside for the upgrades.
