From: Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada - burrrrr!

Bikes: 1958 Rabeneick 120D, 1968 Legnano Gran Premio, 196? Torpado Professional, 2000 Marinoni Piuma

Goodbye Calgary...

My visit to Calgary is over and I am in the process of trying to fit six very nice vintage road bicycles (actually seven counting the mid eighties Proctor Townsend that I brought with me) into the Ford Ranger. I stopped carrying money in my pocket with hopes of no more bicycle purchases. I promised my wife that I would not buy anymore bikes and broke the promise when a gorgeous Miyate 1000 Grand Tourer presented itself for a very low price.

I will take pictures of the bikes and send them along when I get back to Thunder Bay. All that said, I had a great time in Calgary and was stunned at the number of road bicycles that I see here there and everywhere in the incredible city.

There is, of course, one last bike that I wish to purchase but I am going to have to pass on it. What is the bike, you ask? A very clean Polagai that is just my size. Bummer! But I am going to add the Miyata 1000with full touring gear to my humble collection of vintage road bicycles. I am also going to keep the C-Record grouppo that came with the way too big Marinoni Special I found during the visit. The rest of the bikes, a Proctor Townsend, a Gianni Motta, a Gitane Professional, a Bianchi, are up for grabs. Watch for them on Ebay soon.

And, in closing, I cannot wait to get home to see my new early eighties Tomassini Prestige and my late sixties Legnano Grand Premio that arrived while I was on vacation...
