Under the current system doping is wrong, so yes, if someone is caught doping they should be punished. My point, which is lost on some, is that were doping legal than everyone could make the choice for themselves as to what risks they are willing to take, as it should be IMO.
Now I agree with you. However, as it stands, there are rules. And the rules and enforcement of rules are a joke--"corrupt" as Lemond puts it.

He's just trying to make the system better (reform vs. total overhaul). Unfortunately, many people simply don't get what he's trying to do and call him names.
