OK, while that sounds good in theory it fails the sniff test IMO. let's take the last Giro as an example. Menchov won by something like 40 seconds.

What is 40 seconds as a percentage of the total time spent racing? Well less than 1%. So in theory had DiLuca gone 1% faster overall he would have easily won. Would a 1% improvement show up as a spike? I doubt it.

I still maintain that there is no testing regimen that cannot be gamed, somehow.
