why not ride the best stuff you can find?
what I find is that is always the battler that has about 10 -15 low end or average bikes or 5 poor form cars in the backyard trying to make one good one. Digging a deeper hole.
I have guys I work with, we take home very similar money, yet they always seem to be just getting by, they have a rubbish old car and wear old clothes, so where does the salary go? I'd guess they somke, drinnk and put most of it in slot machines. Plus eat fast food every day at work and most nights for dinner.
For example the one guy I am thinking off, saves a few bucks and buys an old dirt bike, but he is late for work regulary as his 20 something year old car is totally unreliable.
FWIW, I have always had nice race bikes and nice race ski's etc, i like the way they ride. 100% a top end bike rides better thanan average one, not really faster to a point (as we all know it's the rider) but better.
Some people have lots of money and yes an expensive bike is nice to have for them, my friend built a top of the range pinarello with super recrod and hyperons last week, but I have never asked, but I'd take an educated guess and say this would be less than 1 weeks pay for this guy, he rides on average 6 days a week every day before he goes home gets his kids, drives them to school on the way to work. So he's on the road at 5am, and home from work inthe evening around 7.30 - 8pm.
so yeah some people have too much money, but it seems like there is more with not enough to support what they want to do as far as hobbies or sport go.
