Almost a statistic

I almost became a statistic today, I think I remember reading somewhere that 90% of bike car/accidents happen at intersections and of those 70% are the fault of the cyclist. (I am not sure about the exact numbers but I think those are numbers I remember)

I had stopped at a intersection with a slight grade and turn to the right side of me. I stopped looked left, looked right, looked left again. Started to make my left turn. Hadn't quite got to the centerline when I caught a flash of movement on my right,Big Blue SUV. I stopped,he swerved to his right,ho harm done. I was just a little shook up. Lesson learned, pay more attention.
