I'm not your typical roadie because I wave at triathletes.
I ride steel frames, wear wool, wear reflective gear and think going around in circles for 50 mins is boring and ...never mind. I shun most USCF racing because I can't stand the roadie testosterone attitude. Plus I just don't have the FT muscle fiber to contend for the sprint.
I'm not your typical brevet (long distance) rider because I embrace technology and ride a P3, a Powertap and even race wheels from time to time in my brevet events.
. No handlebar bags, panniers or dyno hub lighting systems for me.
I'm not your typical brevet ride because I race them (with others) even though brevets are not races
--anymore that is (PBP started as a race many many years ago)
I'm not triathlete because I hate swimming. I go to the beach to check out the babes
and let my 4 yr old play in the surf. I do love running though. My bike looks like a x-mas tree with all the reflective stuff on it. Oh and I actually clean my bike after every ride.
I guess I just love being on my bike and riding long.
