As for bullet proof, I crashed my Tempest wheel hard straight into a car that pulled directly in front me making a uturn. There were 3 broken spokes, and one small dent on the braking surface. After getting over the shock of the accident and my 2 broken wrists a year later, I replaced the spokes and took the dent out with a vice-grip, and I still ride it. It is as true as the day it was new.
I've heard lots of mixed things about the sound of Eason/Velomax hubs. I can say that my Easton Circuits with Velomax branded hubs are very quiet. There's more tire noise than hub noise.
