Quite a few local bike stores have demo programs where you drop a deposit on a saddle and give it a shot for a week or so, then make your decision after a few rides.
If you have no local store that can accommodate you, Competitivecyclist.com has a
great demo program where $80 gets you several of the more popular saddles to try and see which one floats your boat.
