When I bought my first new road bike a little over a year ago, it had them. I used them quite a bit. Then I bought a new road bike that did not have them and my other road bike was relegated to commuter duty. I don't miss having them on my road bike and find myself rarely using them on my commuter.

When we were shopping for a new road bike for my wife, she wanted to have them added but I convinced her to try riding without them. She loves her road bike and has never again mentioned adding the levers.
