I have a official Yellow Jersey my parents picked up for me at the '98 TDF.
I'll wear it every now and then to mix thing up. And every now and then I'll get a sarcastic "Go Lance" comment. To which I sometimes reply, "Pantani please, it's from the '98 tour thank you".
Any grown cyclist that feels the need to comment on something another cyclist is wearing needs to grow up.
And the, "People I know that have National championships to their credits do actually care."
Give me a break! If they feel that way, I consider them poor representatives to their given sport and completely selfish. They feel threatened or offended by some regular guy wearing "their" jersey. No national champion I want to know.
I can't think of any professional in any sport worrying about something like a jersey that a FAN wears.
I guess some people are legends in their own minds.
