I think if you like riding on the tops alot and like the inline setup, maybe switching to flat bars or a hybrid makes sense.
Is there a rule book about what does and does not belong on a road bike? Are you the author? Somewhere during the last 11 years I missed that rule book.

Can I have a bell? How about a large wedge? Etc., etc.

Why do I have to switch to a flat bar if I have inline brakes. Is that another "rule?"

Goodness - so many rules it boggles one's mind.

My rule is you can have anything on a road bike one wants to have!
