I don't know. I guess I never really land on it full-force. Just glance off ot it. Altho I do it hard enough to take bits of metal off the guard here and there. I took a chance on it not knowing if it would be really strong enough to hold up but so far so good. Metal is pretty strong stuff!

I imagine that if I managed to seriosuly slam it into something it will break or bend. Almost every time I have hit it involved an urban step up or down that I didn't check clearance on. The sort of stuff I have broken chainrings on before I started using bash rings.
