Thanks everyone. My bike is about, 14 years old. It's a Marin Rockstar. It's in relatively great shape, except just needing the tune-up. I wanted to save some money by doing it myself. It looked easy on the videos.

Shifting was hesitant and also wouldn't shift at all sometimes. Lots of noise, so it needed to be done. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and pay someone $100 to turn a few screws.
