roccobike, it was right around 18 mph. The first 11 miles are flat with a couple of small rollers. The lead pack was dinking around and nobody was real serious about leading it out so we stayed around 23 mph. The hill is between 6.5 to 7 miles and ranges from 5% to 8% with the steepest portions at the top and bottom. On the steeper portions I was maintaining 11.5 to 12 mph and when it flattened out a little I got up to 15 mph.

With a large family and work my training is limited - about 1 hr to 1 hr 15 minute rides. I ride hard and incorporate intervals and at least one big hill climb a week. I also have to fight 10-20 mph winds on almost a daily basis so that has helped my conditioning. My longer rides are on Sunday with a total distance of around 45-50 miles.
