Point is, debugging a circuit takes far more intuition and skill than a simple mechanical system. And it's far more useful.

Get with the times.
Do you really think that a bike mechanic is ever going to debug a circuit board inside a DI2 Derailleur? Pffft....not a chance. All you will hear is "you need a new rear deraillier, sir".

Maybe a few out there will have the skills, but most mechanics (especially auto mechanics) have become "parts replacers" in the past 15-20 years rather than actually being able to repair something that is broken.
