I have look keo carbon pedals on two bikes and have worn the same pair sidi's with the same set of keo cleats for over 3 years (approx 30,000 miles) one cleat came loose once--that is the only problem I have had so I don't know where you get your info about clear wear--of course I rarely walk around in them either so YMMV if you plan on doing that
