I've had a few Specialized tri-spokes, as well as a set of Spins. There really is no comparison, the Spins are cheap, somewhat heavy, and pretty much no competition for the Specialized wheels.

The last pair of Specialized wheels I had were carbon fiber. I had an older set that looked like they were composite, but that was not the case, they were carbon fiber as well, just covered with a satin black finish that gave them the appearance of being composite.
