Nope. MAFAC old school wide profile cantis were the bomb. Paul Neo-Retros and Velo-Orange Grand Crus are design copies on the original MAFAC rim-crushing awesomeness. I currently use Tektro CR720s, which overall design-wise are dissimilar, but the geometry is the same.
Thanks. I looked them up. Makes more sense now. Not anything like the old center pulls I was remembering.
