Is this even really an "escape" shifter since its for the front deraileur?

Ok I won't lube it, the hood definitely isn't the issue because its still jammed even after peeling it off, maybe I will start by readjusting the cable and see what that does, then go from there. It completely worked fine up till November, then I parked the bike till a couple months ago and thats when it started but it only happened a few times so I doubt broken pieces. (and luckily not in the last race I had!)
