........... I have seen guys with flat bars keep up or even smoke riders on drops. If the rider's position is correct, I don't think flat bars slow you down, other than any discomfort from having fewer hand positions. But if you can't adjust the reach, you might have issues getting the position right.
Agreed, that's the problem usually.
Thanks for posting that, as although it would wreck the fold, I was contemplating fitting drops to a Brompton (fitted with Stelvios, except I've now discovered they're no longer made!), just for some tests (not unlike your new useful comparison thread

) but not sure I will now, as I have adjustable bar ends on this Brompton, & can setup a pseudo drops position, which seems pretty good, & I can still fold it, essential for my use.
